ALISO VIEJO, Calif., Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ - Convergence, LLC (formerly Convergence, Inc.) today announced information technology veteran David Matty, Ph.D., has joined the interactive agency as President and CEO as part of an expansion plan that included a major capital infusion by an investment team affiliated with Geovest.

Jeff Huggins, an interactive marketing pioneer who co-founded Convergence in 1996, orchestrated the moves in preparation for the company's next phase of significant growth. "It is becoming increasingly clear that eMarketing will quickly become pervasive across most industries. I'm pleased to bring Dave's leadership to our executive team and additional capital and insight from the investment team to accelerate our growth," said Huggins, who is now Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing and remains an equity partner in the company.

"We've looked for ways of becoming involved with Convergence since late spring," commented Dr. Matty, who is also one of the investors. "We believe Convergence is very well positioned with great creative and technical expertise, major clients, and immediate opportunities in this exciting and expanding market." Dr. Matty was recently President and CEO of NurLogic Design, a provider of semiconductor intellectual property, which was acquired by publicly-held Artisan Components in February of this year. Previously, he was Vice President of Research and Development at Brooktree Corporation and Executive Director at Conexant Systems. At Unisys Corporation, Dr. Matty led a development team specializing in interactive applications using object-oriented software.

The investment team also includes Dr. George Kallins and Dr. James Kallins, both of whom are active entrepreneurs in the healthcare, real estate, and hospitality industries in Southern California. As part of the transaction, Convergence will now be operating as a California limited liability corporation.
