8/24/2004 - World Waterpark Association Partners with Convergence
Agreement Provides Interactive Marketing Services to Member Waterparks

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ - The World Waterpark Association (WWA) and Convergence, LLC, have joined forces to promote the benefits of interactive marketing to member waterparks worldwide. The 3-year agreement includes an educational series on eMarketing, promotes an industry-specific ePlatform by Convergence and provides new Web site and eCommunications capabilities for the WWA.

Rick Root, President of the WWA, sees a common theme among waterparks: the need to leverage the Web to drive sales and increase customers. "We partnered with Convergence because of their proven success with leading waterpark and entertainment venues. Convergence has already helped the WWA take a leap forward in interactive marketing; together we will help members accelerate their Web-marketing efforts." The WWA has endorsed the Convergence Waterpark ePlatform, which provides attraction and event promotion, online ticket sales, customer e-mail communications and interactive loyalty clubs.

WWA recently unveiled its new member Web site (www.waterparks.org)designed by Convergence, including an extensive section devoted to the WWA Convention in October. Convergence has taken a leading step in educating waterpark-industry members about the potential for e-marketing by presenting an educational session on that topic at the upcoming convention, Oct. 6-10 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Convergence also wrote an article on e-marketing for the Association’s members-only magazine, World Waterpark Magazine. As part of the second phase of development with WWA, Convergence is building a sister WWA Web site to increase industry awareness with consumers.
